Our Core Beliefs

In today’s media landscape, trust is the name of the game. With skepticism on the rise, we’re all about keeping things clear and upfront. Transparency? It’s not just a buzzword here; it’s our backbone. • Commitment to Excellence: In our newsroom, we’re all about doing our best, but we’re also human, and sometimes we make mistakes. When that happens, we own up to it, learn from it, and fix it right away. We’re always working to get better, so you can trust us to bring you the most accurate and reliable news possible.
  • Leadership and Initiative: We’re all about leading the way, not just jumping on the bandwagon. With solid research and a deep understanding of what our community needs, we’re here to push boundaries, spark new ideas, and get things done.

Our History

Over three decades ago, Ana Hannegan embarked on a mission. With a modest Spanish-only newspaper in hand, she set out to connect communities and empower voices in San Diego. Her vision was simple yet profound: to bridge cultures, inform minds, and uplift spirits.

As the years passed, Ana’s dedication shaped Hispanos Unidos into a cornerstone of local media in San Diego. From humble beginnings, the newspaper grew, embracing both English and Spanish to reach every corner of the city. It wasn’t just about the news; it was about the people—their stories, struggles, and triumphs.

As a family-run business, we’re all about carrying on Ana’s legacy. We’re diving into the digital world to make sure our content is easily within reach. Ana’s influence still lights our way as we navigate the ever-changing media landscape.
