At the age of seven, Paolo experienced a life-altering moment when he attended a symphony orchestra performance with his father. In that poignant moment, he realized that conducting was his true calling, igniting a lifelong passion for music. “I understood that this was going to be my life,” he remarks, recognizing the profound impact music had on him. Beyond merely becoming a musician, Paolo aspired to emulate the conductor who left an indelible mark on his soul. “More than becoming a musician, I wanted to become that guy that was able to make an impact on me when I was a seven-year-old kid,” he reflects. “Every time I am in front of an orchestra or an audience, my aim is exactly the same, where is that little Paolo in this audience that will feel this,” he continues. “If you are capable of touching a fiber, you can create an impact in a soul then your job is done, because that’s what happened to me. I lived through that. I made sense to my life because of that concert. And that’s what I want. That’s the thing that I want to give away and get to the people.”
Paolo’s encounter with the symphony orchestra ignited a passion for music that would shape his life’s journey. Through dedication and honing his craft, he rose to the role of conductor, embarking on a journey that led him to travel the globe. For Paolo, the allure of travel lies not only in the exploration of new territories but also in the profound connections forged through music. “When you start to rehearse, you realize that music is a universal language,” he explains. “In two seconds, in two minutes, you are already connecting with people with the same thing that you are experiencing across the globe, with these pieces of art that have been created by other human beings around the globe at the same time.” In Paolo’s eyes, this realization illuminates the interconnectedness of humanity, despite geographical and cultural boundaries. “So in a way,” he muses, “one of the things that makes it so exciting is that you realize how small but how much variety there is in this beautiful planet we call home.”
Paolo expresses his deep passion for his work, describing it as vital and akin to a heartbeat. “I am really passionate about what I do because I really think it’s so vital in the way that they do like a heartbeat,” he asserts. He highlights the universality of art, particularly music, emphasizing that it transcends ownership and exists as “human pulsations.”
As Paolo reflects on his journey, he fondly recalls his father’s influence, a presence that continues to shape his passion for music. “My dad always knew,” he shares, his voice tinged with emotion. “And one of the most beautiful things I could say about him is that when I wrote my book, it starts with a story. The book is written to my son, to my future son. It’s a letter for the future, explaining how a particular day changed my life and why I’m so in love with music and art, and why I do what I do. The whole concept is that I am talking to the person that I love the most about the thing I love the most. So in a way, the book is a letter to my son but it was the last book my dad read, so it made a lot of sense to me that it was all set.”

A los siete años, Paolo vivió un momento que cambiaría su vida cuando asistió a una presentación de la orquesta sinfónica con su padre. Viví eso. Tuve sentido en mi vida por ese concierto. Y eso es lo que quiero. Esa es la cosa que quiero dar y llevar a las personas”.

El concepto completo es que estoy hablando con la persona que amo más sobre lo que más amo. Entonces, de alguna manera, el libro es una carta a mi hijo, pero fue el último libro que mi papá leyó, así que tuvo mucho sentido para mí que todo estuviera preparado”.
