San Diego, CA – San Ysidro Health, a non-profit healthcare provider, expands its services with a new mobile health unit, boosting healthcare access for San Diego’s youngest residents. The unveiling took place during the 5th annual ‘El Zapatón Shoes for Wellness Fair’ at the Health Maternal & Child Health Center in San Ysidro.
With a focus on 35,000 children under its care, San Ysidro Health aims to bridge the healthcare gap in San Diego County. The new mobile unit, alongside events like El Zapatón, breaks barriers to quality healthcare, offering immunizations, well-child visits, physicals, family planning, and preventive services. Families can now apply for Covered California and/or MediCal without visiting a standalone clinic.
The El Zapatón Wellness Fair provides essential screenings, immunizations, and provided new shoes to 150 pediatric patients aged 5-17, making a tangible impact on families, especially during the holidays. It symbolizes San Ysidro Health’s commitment to building healthy communities through accessible healthcare. To support these efforts, donations can be made at https://syh.pub/elzapaton23.
