Escondido, CA – Hoy, el administrador de la ciudad, Sean McGlynn, anunció que el subjefe de bomberos John Tenger ha sido nombrado jefe de la ciudad de Escondido, después de una búsqueda a nivel nacional. El Jefe Tenger sucederá al Jefe Rick Vogt, quien se jubilará el 15 de julio de 2023 después de dirigir el Departamento de Bomberos durante seis años y una carrera acumulada de 33 años en el servicio de bomberos. FREE ICE CREAM AND FREE LIMITED SUPPLY OF KIDS FISHING POLES AT OCEAN BEACH PIER RENEWAL PROJECT

Ocean Beach - On Saturday, June 10th, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., the City of San Diego is inviting the public to provide input about what features they would like to see included in an ideal Ocean Beach Pier.  Free ice cream, donated by Lighthouse Ice Cream, will be available, while supplies last. Fishing poles will be given to the first 20 kids and there will be 10 adult poles to be raffled off!  This is the 2nd in-person Community Workshop for the Ocean Beach Pier Renewal Project.   The workshop on June 10 will be held at the Liberty Station Conference Center, 2600 Laning Road For more information go to www.obpierrenewal.com. SAN DIEGO –The American Red Cross asks people to book a time to give blood or platelets now to address a recent drop in donation appointments that could lead to fewer transfusions for patients in the weeks ahead. Type O blood donors are especially needed to ensure a strong blood supply. The start of summer can shake up normal routines, but it's important for donation appointments to stay on the calendar – especially as Memorial Day weekend approaches.
