Get ready for a celestial spectacle at the Fleet Science Center’s annual solar eclipse viewing party. This free outdoor event kicks off at 8 a.m. and promises a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Witness the Moon touch the Sun’s edge at 8:09 a.m., with the climax at 9:26 a.m. San Diegans will be treated to the most exciting moments between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m. The eclipse concludes at 10:52 a.m.

What to Expect: Get ready for a celestial spectacle at the Fleet Science Center’s annual solar eclipse viewing party. Please remember: It’s not safe to look directly at the Sun during a partial solar eclipse. Telescopes and binoculars can be used to project images of the Sun on a flat surface. You can also purchase special Eclipse Shade glasses from the North Star Science Store if you wish to observe through a telescope.

Somewhere to Go: San Diego Electric Vehicle (EV) Day

When: Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Where: Snapdragon Stadium, 2101 Stadium Way, San Diego, CA

What to Expect: This free family-friendly event offers test drives of the latest EV models, chats with local EV drivers, and entertainment for all ages. With over 60 EVs available for test drives and exhibitions, this year’s event at Snapdragon Stadium is bigger and better than ever.
