Top Rank Returns with ESPN Broadcast Featuring Two High-Stakes Title Bouts and Hometown Star Giovani Santillan
SAN DIEGO, CA – The legendary Mexico vs. Philippines boxing rivalry adds a fresh chapter on Saturday, May 10, as three-division Mexican champion Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete defends his WBO junior lightweight world title against undefeated Filipino Olympian Charly Suarez at Pechanga Arena San Diego. The stacked night of action, promoted by Top Rank, will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET.
In the co-main event, rising Southern California star Raymond Muratalla (22-0, 17 KOs) faces battle-tested Russian contender Zaur Abdullaev (20-1, 12 KOs) for the vacant interim IBF lightweight world title.

Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 KOs), returning to the site of his 2024 loss to Denys Berinchyk, is seeking redemption after coming up short in his bid to become a four-division world champion. Re-energized at 130 pounds, he returns to title defense mode after a dominant stoppage over Oscar Valdez last December.
Suarez (18-0, 10 KOs), a 2016 Olympian, brings speed, resilience, and the pride of the Philippines into his first world title shot. He’s fresh off a three-round KO of Jorge Castañeda and aims to become the Philippines’ third active world champion.
Also on the card, lightweight knockout artist Raymond Muratalla returns to California looking to claim his first belt. Known for his aggressive style, Muratalla will meet his toughest opponent yet in Abdullaev, who enters with nine straight wins—including stoppages over Jorge Linares and Roman Andreev.
The undercard, streamed on ESPN+, features San Diego’s own Giovani Santillan (33-1, 18 KOs) in a 10-round welterweight clash against Mexicali’s Angel Beltran (18-2-1, 11 KOs).
