Vista – Nestled in the heart of Vista, the Moonlight Amphitheater has been a longstanding cultural hub, witnessing significant growth and transformation over the years. The venue has evolved from a simple concrete stage surrounded by trailers to a spectacular amphitheater hosting world-class performances. This transformation reflects not only the physical changes but also a commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
Margo Cobian, an active member of the executive board and a long-time Vista resident, shared insights into the venue’s journey and its newfound focus on inclusivity, especially within the Hispanic community.
The Moonlight Amphitheater has taken significant steps to be more inclusive, featuring renowned artists such as Jose Feliciano, Tito Puente Jr. and Mariachi Divas in its upcoming concerts. According to Margo, the choice of these artists was intentional. “These are artists that are important to us. They have meaning … not only inclusive of our Latino community but generations as well that have grown up listening. I remember my grandma playing that music. My mom played the music … So that’s why I think it’s important to have these artists.”
Continuing with the theme of inclusivity, Margo expressed excitement about the upcoming lineup. “For me, it was always a big part to reach out to the Latino community. Being Latina and thinking there’s another demographic culture that we need to reach out to make sure that everyone is aware of the Moonlight and see all the efforts that are being made, and how beautiful the theater is, and then bringing in Latino artists as well. To me, that’s like music to my heart,” expressed Margo passionately.
“I’ve had season tickets. I’ve taken my family, my kids who have grown up there, it’s just such a beautiful place, and we just want more people to know about it,” added Margo, emphasizing the personal connection many have with the venue.
The Moonlight Amphitheater offers a unique experience with its expansive lawn area, providing open seating options. The venue also boasts free parking, allowing guests to comfortably plan their visit.
With the concerts of Mariachi Divas scheduled for May 23 and Tito Puente Jr., along with Jose Feliciano, set for August 1, the Moonlight Amphitheater promises an unforgettable cultural experience. Tickets are available now, and the doors open at 6:00 PM, with the shows commencing at 7:30 PM.

Mi mamá tocaba la música… Por eso creo que es importante tener a estos artistas”.
Continuando con el tema de la inclusividad, Margo expresó emoción por los próximos conciertos. “Para mí, siempre fue una gran parte llegar a la comunidad latina. Ser latina y pensar que hay otra cultura demográfica a la que debemos llegar para asegurarnos de que todos estén al tanto de Moonlight y vean todos los esfuerzos que se están haciendo, y lo hermoso que es el teatro, y luego traer también artistas latinos. Para mí, eso es como música para mi corazón”, expresó apasionadamente Margo.
“He tenido abonos para el Moonlight. He llevado a mi familia, a mis hijos que han crecido allí, es simplemente un lugar tan hermoso, y queremos que más personas lo conozcan”, agregó Margo, enfatizando la conexión personal que muchos tienen con el lugar. El Moonlight Amphitheater ofrece una experiencia única con su amplia área de césped, brindando opciones de asientos abiertos. El lugar también cuenta con estacionamiento gratuito, permitiendo a los visitantes planificar cómodamente su visita.
