San Diego – Las solicitudes para el programa sin costo de matrícula San Diego Promise, que incluye servicios integrales de apoyo estudiantil, estarán abiertas a partir del 22 de enero para el semestre de otoño de 2024. El programa San Diego Promise del Distrito de Colegios Comunitarios de San Diego ofrece hasta dos años de matrícula gratuita, así como cuotas de salud, acceso a mentores, entrenadores de éxito estudiantil y consejeros académicos. Los estudiantes con necesidades financieras son elegibles para becas adicionales de libros y suministros educativos.
El San Diego Promise está abierto a graduados recientes de la escuela secundaria que planean asistir a los colegios City, Mesa o Miramar en el otoño, así como a veteranos, estudiantes indocumentados, jóvenes en cuidado de crianza, personas anteriormente encarceladas y estudiantes que regresan al SDCCD y que cumplen con ciertos criterios. Los estudiantes elegibles deben inscribirse en 12 unidades, típicamente cuatro clases, cada semestre. Los estudiantes que actualmente asisten al Colegio de Educación Continua de San Diego, la división sin créditos del distrito, pueden aplicar si planean asistir a City, Mesa o Miramar en el otoño.
Los estudiantes que previamente hayan obtenido un título o certificado de una institución postsecundaria no son elegibles.
La fecha límite prioritaria para presentar una solicitud del Promise es el 5 de abril; la fecha límite final es el 5 de agosto. Las clases de otoño comienzan el 19 de agosto.
Para aquellos interesados en aplicar, se han programado sesiones informativas de 6 a 7 p.m. el 13 de febrero, 5 de marzo, 16 de abril, 14 de mayo y 25 de junio a través de Zoom.
San Diego – Applications for the tuition-free San Diego Promise program that comes with wraparound student support services opens January 22 for the fall 2024 semester. The San Diego Community College District’s San Diego Promise offers up to two years of free tuition, along with health fees, access to peer mentors, student success coaches and academic counselors. Students with financial need are eligible for additional book grants and instructional supplies.
The San Diego Promise is open to recent high school graduates planning to attend San Diego City, Mesa or Miramar college in the fall, as well as veterans, undocumented students, foster youth, formerly incarcerated and returning SDCCD students who meet certain criteria. Eligible students must register for 12 units – typically four classes – each semester. Students currently attending the San Diego College of Continuing Education, the district’s noncredit division, can apply if they plan to attend City, Mesa or Miramar college in the fall.
Students who have previously earned a degree or certificate from a postsecondary institution are not eligible.
The priority deadline for submitting a Promise application is April 5; the final application deadline is August 5. Fall classes begin August 19.
