San Diego – The World Lacrosse Men’s Championship kicks off today 7:00 pm PDT at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.
Yesterday, team captains, team members and those affiliated with each country’s team, were invited to visit The House of Pacific Relations International Cottages in Balboa Park. The Houses of China, Denmark, Italy, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Italy, Denmark, and China were just a few of the 35 cottages on hand with food and drinks ready to greet the international guests. A small way for San Diego to show our appreciation for such a momentous occasion.
Nikolaj Lund, Captain of the Danish National team, stopped by The House of Denmark to visit with members of the house and to reflect on the team’s journey to the Championship games.“We were one of the lowest ranked teams to have qualified, we won a few at the European qualifiers, so just being here we already go up four places for world ranking”. Lund and his team are set to play Wales on Thursday, part of pool B. Denmark’s Team manager feels hopeful about the match. “It’s a good milestone for the team, to see how we’re doing against a team we’ve played so many times.” He went on to add “To see our guys improving every time, and to see where we are now, it’s very exciting to see.” The match will be streamed Thursday at 1:00pm PDT on ESPN+.
Before Denmark is set to play Wales, a bigger rivalry will set the stage on opening day at Snapdragon. USA vs Canada will play Wednesday night at 7:00 pm PDT. The game can be watched on ESPN2, while all 107 games will be available on ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN+. A full broadcast list of all matches, including opening and closing ceremonies, can be seen here.
