“La Tia” visits Nostalgia Coffee Roasters. A Local Roastery Set Out on an effort to Take You Down Memory Lane Through Their Coffee.

San Diego – That first scent of coffee brewing. The gentle quiet that comes with a perfectly tucked in coffee shop. You know that feeling. Add in the warm smiles all around from the baristas that are ready to greet you the moment you walk in. That’s what you can expect the moment you walk into Nostalgia coffee.

(The roastery’s menu right as you walk in.)

It was there that I met Gill, Head of operations for Nostalgia. When asked what the meaning of the shop’s name meant to her, Gill said “It’s the feeling you get from tasting your first cup of coffee, and going back to the memories that it brings.” And on a personal note, Gill says “For me, it was growing up and my mom made me a cup of coffee every morning before high school.”

How lovely!

From coffee to matcha lattes to food, this award-winning coffee shop checks off all the boxes for whatever you’re in the mood for. Be sure to grab their Thanks for the Memories sandwich. It was delicious!

Nostalgia Coffee states on their website “Ethically sourced, sustainably grown, and expertly roasted.” And they are sure to back it up. During my talk with Gill, she confirms Nostalgia gives 5% of their revenue back to their producers.

(Each bag of coffee has a corresponding description of where the beans were sourced.)

Good food. Great coffee. And a company that genuinely cares about the entire process, from sourcing to handing you a hot cup of coffee. I don’t know about you, but I’m a new fan.

Until next time!

Nostalgia Coffee Roasters is open 7 days a week from 7am to 2pm. Located in Sorrento Valley, right off the 5 freeway. For more information visit their website at nostalgiacoffeeroasters.com
